Trishuli (Nuwakot),
Dec 21: The literary writers conducted its fourth edition of the kavya shibir
(literary camp) at Jhiltung of Duipiple VDC in the district where the Mahakavi
Laxmiprasad Devkota had composed the Kunjini epic.
During the camp held
on Saturday, even an interaction was held on originality of contemporary Nepali
poetry. Shreehari Phuyal, RM Dangol, Madhav Ghimire 'Atal' and Chiranjivi
Lamichhane put forth their views on whether the poems written these days,
though in large number, have maintained originality.
At the camp
facilitated by Keshav Silwal, lecturer RM Dangol said there were a lot of
issues to write the poems about. The internalization of the issues determines
the novelty of poems. He added that the craftsmanship was essential to express
the views through poetry.
Similarly, another
poet Shreehari Phuyal said the novelty should be determined by the poet
himself, and the originality in the recent days was trite. So, time has come to
seek different style of novelty. "Once the poet develops his own craftsmanship,
he is able to maintain novelty. Otherwise, it was meaningless to seek
novelty," he underscored.
Chiranjivi Lamichhane
was the next poet to say that the originality in the poems generated in the
capital city and mofussil was different.
As many as 22 poets
including Prollas Sindhuliya, Raju Syangtan, Chetnath Dhamala, Bishnu Bhandari,
Keadar Prasad Nepal, Keshav Amgai, Sangita Paneru, Kala Anuragi, Kapildev
Khanal, Kebal Benami, Keshav Bimal, Pratha, Narayan Nepal, Pramila Dahal, Janak
Bhattarai, Raj Kumar Putla, Haridhwoj Lamichhane recited their poems at the
camp. RSS
