Lalitpur,
Nov. 7: Vice-president of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Paudel has said it
was necessary to identify the features of the modern crops for agricultural
development.
Inaugurating
the second annual general meeting of the Democratic Agriculturist Association
here on Friday, he said modernization of agriculture was necessary for
increasing the agro-produces.
Vice-president
Paudel said oranges, apples and coffee have good future in the country and that
the places to cultivating them should be identified.
The
Nepali Congress has mentioned in its election manifesto for the national
development via agriculture, tourism and the water resources and that the party
and the government have been taking necessary initiatives in this regard.

leader and CA member Gagan Thapa said establishment of different industries and
prioritizing modern agriculture was necessary for the national economic growth.
Recalling
that the government has provided a grant of around 13 billion rupees for the
agriculture sector, he said the farmers should be given information about its
effectiveness.
