Baglung, Nov 8: The
cases of rape and rape attempts are on rise in Baglung district, District
Police Office (DPO), Baglung stated.
According to the
DPO, Baglung, 21 such cases have been reported in the last 27 months.
Report shows that
four rape cases were registered in last fiscal year whereas the number doubled
in the current fiscal year and the rest of the cases were reported in the last
three months prior to the last fiscal year.

Khadka, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at DPO, Baglung, explained
that usually such incidents are registered at the office in two ways, one as an
attempted rape case and another as rape.
Once a case is
taken to the court and as the court convicts the culprit on the basis of
evidences, it takes some five to seven months to take legal course against the
