Kaski, Dec 11: The West Region
Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has
received 1032 different sorts of complaints in the Fiscal Year 2013/2014.
Out of the total complaints the
Office cleared 132 complaints while cases have been filed at the Special Court
on seven others, Under Secretary at the Office, Lokmani Basyal, said.
He said the CIAA Regional Office,
Pokhara collected Rs 3.4 million as revenue towards the misappropriated amount
and the fine on different cases of corruption during that period.
The case related to the
irregularities in the Pokhara University is the largest corruption case the
regional office has handled so far.
CIAA West Region Chief Shankar
Bahadur Thapa said the office has been receiving complaints of big and small
corruption. He added that the CIAA regional office is working vigorously to
settle all the complaints that it has received.
