Gajuri (Dhading), Dec 28: The
labours working for long around a local Agra river of Mahadevbesi in the
district have been provided houses.
The houses each with two
rooms built with the assistance of UCAP Nepal and an Italian organization were
jointly handed over to thirty poor labours on Saturday.
Chief District Officer Basu
Dev Ghimire handed over the keys to the labours to stay in the homes
constructed at Tasarpu-1 of the district.
CDO Ghimire also inaugurated
the labours' residential area and welcomed the workers offering them shawls in
the area.
The labours exuded happiness
and felicitated the CDO and donors offering them garlands.
The labours can stay in the
houses for at least 15 years. They do not need to pay tax. However, they would
not get the land their houses have occupied. The donor organizations have taken
the land in lease.
A representative from the
Italian organization, Ganesh Bhattarai, said some 4.5 million was spent to
construct the house and hand over the workers. RSS
