World Bank pledges increased support

Kathmandu, Dec 23: World Bank Country Director Takuya Kamata on Tuesday said the WB would be increasing its support for Nepal's development endeavors.

During a meeting with Nepal Chamber of Commerce officials here in the capital city, Kamata underlined the increasingly favourable atmosphere of investment in Nepal and commended the role played by the private sector.

NCC Chairperson Rajeshkaji Shrestha on the occasion said the conclusion of the peace process and the prospect of a new constitution had boosted the morale of the entrepreneurs.

Shrestha added that the recent Power Trade Agreement and Project Development Agreement reached with India had encouraged international investment in the country. RSS
