Thomas Edison, Working in Menlo Park, NJ (now part of Edison Township)perfected incandescent lighting in 1879, improving on Swan's (and other's)efforts. He then devised the electrical generation and distribution systemto make it useful.Tom Edison thought he was bright,He invented the electric light,Then, to his chagrin,When turning in,His wife said, "I'll be reading tonight."
