Potable water crunch hits Simikot





            Humla, Nov 17: Residents of Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla, have been facing acute shortage of potable water due to the drought.
           
            The locals here have been suffering the scarcity of potable water for a longtime after water sources in their locality dried up.

           A team of 10 members also comprising representatives of local Police Community Water Users' Group have started works to fetch water from local Chalta stream to address the problem of potable water for the time being.

            According to team technician Prem Rawat, the maintenance of old water projects in the village is on the progress to avail the locals water. The maintenance works are expected to complete within the next three days.  RSS
