Rautahat,
Nov 18: The trend of merger of schools operating under the District Education
Office, Rautahat has gone up.
At
least 18 schools are in preparation to go for merger after the Commission for
Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) increased vigilance on community
schools of Rautahat, said District Education Office, Rautahat, Chief, Narendra
Raj Poudel.
So
far 214 schools based in the district are under the radar of anti-graft
watchdog.
Likewise,
with the activism of CIAA and Department of Education to check irregularities
propping up in education sector of late, some 32 schools of the district have
submitted applications to close down their operation.
Meanwhile,
children pursuing their education in primary school in Dewahi have been compelled
to study under the open sky.
The
minors are forced to stay under open sky for study as the budget released by
District Education Office, Rautahat for the construction of school building was
not adequate to complete the works.
The
under construction of Dewahi-3-based primary school has been stalled due to
resource gap for the past four years.
The
District Education Office, Rautahat had released Rs 550,000 for the
construction of two-room school building in 2067 BS under the Physical Infrastructure
Development Programme.
The
amount was not adequate to complete the construction works, said former
chairperson of school management committee, Suresh Patel.
District
Education Officer Poudel has pledged to take necessary action for the construction
works once after inspecting the school. RSS
