Arghakhanchi, Nov 30:
Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh has said the constitution would be
promulgated on the slated date.
Addressing a
programme organized to announce the district as open defection free here on
Saturday, DPM Singh said the constitutional political dialogue and consensus
committee was holding serious discussions on the disputed issues of the
constitution, so the consensus was very near.
Also the General
Secretary of the Nepali Congress, DPM Singh, said after the promulgation of the
new constitution, elections for the prime minister and president would be held.
Similarly, election of local bodies would also be conducted with the amendment
of the Local Self-Governance Act.
On the occasion,
UCPN-Maoist leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said a fresh agreement among the
signatories of the 12-point understanding was needed again.
Constituent Assembly
member Dr Duman Singh Thapa blamed that five leaders of the big four parties
were obstructing the constitution writing.
Arghakhanchi is the
first district in Lumibi zone declared open defection free. RSS
