Discount offer to taxpayers till mid-January

Kathmandu, Nov 17: The Inland Revenue Department has announced different discount schemes to taxpayers till mid-January.

At a programme organised here today to mark the Third National Tax Day, Department Director General  Chudamani Sharma urged the every people to be responsible by paying tax on time as tax paid by them is spend for development works of the country.

Before this, a procession was organised from Office of the Department, Lazimpat and it concluded after reaching Bagdarbar via Lainchour, Tridevimarg, Jamal, Ratna Park and Bhadrakali.

More than 1,000 people had participated in the procession. Participants carried different placards reading "Taxpayer Friendly Tax Administration, Progress and Good Governance Our Campaign, Let's establish our habit to pay tax on time."

Around 1.2 million are in tax net in the country, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, a Tax-Week has begun from today. Different awareness programmes on tax payment would be organised throughout a week.

In Biratnagar, the Office of Inland Revenue organised a morning rally in Biratnagar Bazaar today to mark the Day.

Different people including lawmaker and Chairman of Morang Industry Association, Pawan Sharada, Chief District Officer Ganeshraj Karki and Chief at the Inland Revenue Office Gopal Koirala joined the rally. RSS
