Nov 8: Minister for Finance Dr Ram
Sharan Mahat has said that new constitution should focus development.
Inaugurating
the monastery constructed by an association related to Nepal Non-Violence
Buddha Religion and World Peace at Semjong in Dhading district on Friday,
Minister Dr Mahat said that the new constitution would be drafted comprising
the issues of dignity, identity and inclusiveness of all sectors on the basis
of religious diversity.
Minister Dr Mahat further claimed that the
government was committed to promulgating a new constitution by January 22.
He
said it has been 16 years that local bodies' election has not been held. It has
badly obstructed developmental activities.
Moreover he said the construction of the Budhi
Gandaki Hydropower has begun at a total cost of Rs 150 billion and it would
help reduce load shedding in the country.
Similarly,
lawmakers Bahadur Singh Tamang, Dilman Pakhrin and Parashu Man Tamang and other
local leaders and religious gurus have pointed out the need of respecting the
religious diversity of the country. RSS
