Bhimduttanagar, Nov 24: Forest
encroachment in the Chure and Mahabharat area of Dadheldhura district has still
not stopped in spite of government efforts to control it for last few years.
The locals still have the trend of
encroaching forests and building permanent houses for the individual purposes
in Bagbazaar and surrounding area after some organizations built public offices
taking permission with the community forests, said Santosh Jairu, President of
Nepal Dalits' Association, Dadeldhura.
Meanwhile, District Forest Officer
Krishna Bhatta said the District Forest Office was preparing the record of
residential and forest area. It would take action against those who built the
structures by encroaching on forest areas and has given a week-long ultimatum
to remove the structures constructed around the district headquarters, said
Bhatta. RSS
