Kathmandu, Nov 24: Prime Minister
Sushil Koirala today participated in the rehearsal of the welcome ceremony for
the Heads of State and Governments coming to attend the 18th SAARC
Summit to be held at the City Hall on 26 November.
The rehearsal of the welcome
ceremony to be held while receiving the Heads of State and Governments of the
SAARC member countries at the airport and their cavalcade from the airport to
Hotel Soaltee where they would be staying and from Hotel Soaltee to the City
Hall was conducted today.
PM Koirala observed the rehearsal of
the welcome ceremony and the cavalcade of the dignitaries and also participated
in the exercise.
Prime
Minister Koirala on the occasion acquired information regarding the rehearsal
on the Nepal PM welcoming the dignitaries at the City Hall, accompanying them
to the newly-constructed holding room adjoining the meeting hall and then from
the holding room to the meeting hall.
He also inspected the hall, mikes,
the power supply and the chairs and their arrangement in the hall.
Before this, the Prime Minister had
inspected the road from Singha Durbar to Baneshwar to Tinkune which had been
cleared of traffic.
Today's rehearsal was carried out
for the second time after some weaknesses were seen in the first rehearsal
regarding the entry of the cavalcade of the dignitaries to the City Hall. RSS
