Ratnanagar (Chitwan), Nov 24: Two
security posts have been set up in Chitwan district in view of the 18th SAARC
summit taking place in Kathmandu on 26 and 27 November.
Police
Chief of Chitwan, Sahakul Bahadur Thapa said security has been beefed up by
establishing two security posts. A joint team of Nepal Police and the Armed
Police have been deployed. Each post has eight security personnel.
The posts have been established at
Lothar and Muglin.
Thapa said security personnel have been
mobilized with special electronic machine for checking to prevent the possible
smuggling of explosive materials and small arms into Kathmandu.
The District Administration Office has
tightened the security at border transit points as well as on the main
highways.
Assistant Chief District Officer
Janardan Gautam said that security personnel deployed as per the directive of
the headquarters to keep border check points and highways under special
