Sharma Oli has said anyone found guilty of impunity could not escape legal
action.
Receiving a memorandum from a delegation
of Amnesty International (AI) Nepal chapter today, leader Oli stated that even
the Truth and Reconciliation Commission could not pardon the people implicated
in human rights violation occurred during the armed conflict in the
country. "The International
Criminal Court is there to look after such cases if they remain beyond the
jurisdiction of the country's law and the UML would play a supportive role to
that end," he assured.
The delegation headed by AI Nepal
President Surya Bahadur Thapa stressed that a new constitution should be human
rights-friendly and it should be promulgated within the slated timeframe.
