Nov 18: The water level in an artificial lake formed after the blockage of
Sunkoshi River caused by devastating landslide at Ramche-5, Jure of
Sindhupalchowk district on last August 2 is gradually dropping.
The
water level in the lake decreased by seven metres in a month after the
Department of Roads took the responsibility to give outlet to the lake and
still nine metres of water reserved in the lake is yet to be drained out, said
Engineer at Division Road Office, Charikot, Dasharath Yadav.
Daily
three excavators have been mobilized to give outlet to the water and with the
depletion of water level four landslide-buried houses roofs of two houses are
clearly visible.
The
physical things stuck in the houses buried have also been taken out, Yadav
informed. The breadth of the lake was 17 metre when it was formed and now it
has been extended to 38 metres for easy drainage of water. RSS
