Chautara, Nov 18: The water level in an artificial lake formed after the blockage of Sunkoshi River caused by devastating landslide at Ramche-5, Jure of Sindhupalchowk district on last August 2 is gradually dropping.

The water level in the lake decreased by seven metres in a month after the Department of Roads took the responsibility to give outlet to the lake and still nine metres of water reserved in the lake is yet to be drained out, said Engineer at Division Road Office, Charikot, Dasharath Yadav.

Daily three excavators have been mobilized to give outlet to the water and with the depletion of water level four landslide-buried houses roofs of two houses are clearly visible.

The physical things stuck in the houses buried have also been taken out, Yadav informed. The breadth of the lake was 17 metre when it was formed and now it has been extended to 38 metres for easy drainage of water. RSS
