Ilam, Dec 31: The Area Police Office,
Pashupatinagar has arrested an Indian citizen along with smuggled copper
statues.
Tsering Sherpa,32, a resident of
Lobema-2 in Darjeeling, India was arrested on Tuesday from Pashupatinagar-4, as
he was about the smuggle the statues into India from Nepal.
The statues worth Rs. 197,000 included a
big statue of Buddha, Guru Rimpoche and Guru Charesi.
Sherpa has been handed over to the
Pashupatinagar Customs Office for necessary action, Police Inspector at the
Area Police Office Iswar Thapa said. RSS
