Kathmandu, Dec 27: A painting entitled
'Sapanaharu (Dreams)' by Lainsingh Bangdel (1924-2002), the father of Nepali
modern art, has sold out for Rs 550,000 in the ongoing Kalapunja IV extensive
art exhibition at the Nepal Art Council, Bbaarmahal.
The exhibition was organised by
Society of Modern Art SOMA commemorating the 90th birth anniversary
of the artist Bangdel.
Similarly, the artwork titled 'Dingla'
by 68-year-old Kanti Neupane sold for Rs 35,000 in the same exhibition. Neupane
is the daughter of the Rastrakabi Madhav Prasad Ghimire.
The art exhibition features 90
paintings by the late Bangdel's students including three by the late artist
himself. The exhibition will run till December 29. RSS
