Livestock Insurance Programme becoming popular in Rautahat

            Rautahat, Dec 1: The Livestock Insurance Programme is becoming popular among the farmers in Rautahat district. The programme grants 90 per cent of total loss to farmers in the accidental death of animals.

            The District Livestock Service Office Rautahat has launched the programme in different VDCs in the district. Over 200 farmers here have so far conducted insurance of their cattle. The programme is becoming popular among the farmers as they shall pay only 25 per cent of the insurance amount as premier in the first installment and are properly compensated in the loss, Livestock Development Officer Khadka Kumar Mainali said.  The Office is authorised to make recommendations for allocation of insurance amount to farmers by studying the nature of  the death of cattle.

            The programme has proved a great relief for farmers in the accidental loss of their animals. RSS
