Birendranagar, Dec 25: Surkhet district
has seen total 22 incidents of human rights violation in the year 2014.
According to INSEC Surkhet office, the
number does not include violence against women.
The anti-human rights incidents include
abduction/disappearance one, threat and manhandle four, torture and brutal
inhuman treatment eight, rape and rape attempt five and violation of economic,
social and cultural rights violation four, stated the INSEC Human Rights
Report.
At a programme organized to share the
report findings, Nepali Congress, Surkhet District Secretary Tek Bahadur Singh
said that the report should include all types of anti-human rights report and
prepare base for guarantee of human rights for all.
On the occasion, Thammar Bahadur Bista
of UCPN (Maoist), Prashanta Rana of CPN-Maoist and Single Women Regional
Coordinator Ram Kumari Thapa, among others, recommended INSEC to adequately
cover human rights violation incidents in the report to maintain its integrity
