Three hours to fetch a pot of water

            Khotang, Dec 11: An acute shortage of drinking water has troubled folks of Gabaincha village in Badkadiya VDC of Khotang district.

            At least 17 households including nine that of Dalits in ward no 5 have faced drinking water problem for the past two years after water sources including taps and pool nearby their locality went drier.

            "We are forced to fetch drinking water from three hour walking distance every day when our taps and ponds kept on drying", said Geeta Nepali, a local.

            She added, "It has adversely affected education of our children as one has to go to bring water from distant". RSS
