Kathmandu, Dec 28: The
Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) marked its seventh anniversary on Sunday.
The party formed after the
People's Movement-II has been raising the concerns of Madhesi people and Madhes
in general.
Vice President Parmanand Jha
and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala attended a cultural programme and tea party
organized by the TMLP in the capital to mark its seventh anniversary.
On the occasion, CPN (UML)
Chairman KP Sharma Oli, UCPN (Maoist) senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai,
Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel, Chairman of Madhesi
Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, former prime minister
Surya Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Pashupati Shumsher
JBR and many others were present.
On the occasion, TMLP
Chairman Mahantha Thakur told RSS that the new constitution should
institutionalize the achievements of the people's war, People's Movement-II,
Madhes movement and movements of different other communities.
The achievements of all such
movements should not be forgotten to bring the constitution on time and the
constitution should be issued based on consensus, Thakur added. RSS
