-- The United States and its allies conducted a total of 15 airstrikes against
Islamic State ( IS) targets in Syria and Iraq Tuesday, hitting several
buildings and units, according to a statement released by U.S. Department of
Defense.
In Syria, seven airstrikes near Kobani
and Dayz ar Zawr destroyed four IS buildings, an IS tactical unit, an IS
shipping container, the statement said. In Iraq, eight airstrikes near
Mosul, Fallujah, Ramadi and Bayji destroyed four IS excavators, two IS fighting
positions, six IS buildings, five IS tactical vehicles and five IS tactical
units.
Coalition nations conducting airstrikes
in Iraq include the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France,
Netherlands and the United Kingdom, while countries on the coalition conducting
airstrikes in Syria include the United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia,
and the United Arab Emirates.
