Dhunche (Rasuwa), Dec 22: The use of
mules for transporting goods has increased in the mountainous region of the
district day by day.
The mules used earlier from
Syaphrubesi to Langtang to specially carry tourists' baggage can now be seen
supplying goods to many places as Chandanbari, Gosaikunda, Briddim, Tatopani of
Chilime, Thuman, Nakthali and Haku which are not linked to road, said mules
supply entrepreneur, Devi Tamang.
According to him, a mule can easily
carry the load of 50 to 70/80 kg; and a single person can look after and take
many mules to destination at a time.
The entrepreneurs said more than 50
mules were used in the district due to the lack of porters. As many people have
left homes for jobs, it is difficult to get porters, they added.
According to them, the supply cost
depends on distance, ranging from Rs 10 to 25. RSS
