As the day which is dedicated to mother with respect and love. It is celebrated in various countries with their own culture. In Nepal it is celebrated on the new moon day of Baishak.
Nepal Mother's day
According to Nepal Hindu culture mothers day is clebrated on the new moon day of Baishak which is called Mata tirtha Aaushi. In this day Mother are greeted with fruits, sweets and surprise gifts.
People go to visit their mother and make them happy But people who have miss their mother go to Place called MATA TIRTHA which is located at western side of Kathmandu valley and is at the base of GURJU DHARA HILL. MATA TIRTHA is a small Pond. People take bath over there. It is believed that pure view at the pond(MATA TIRTHA) will show the face of mother as well as the departed soul of mother will get happy and pass blessing to their sons. The Pond is historical and religious place.
MATA TRITHA (Small Description)
Mata Tirtha is located in Kathamndu MadevSthan Village Development committee. It's a pure place of Mother so is is called MATA TIRTHA. MATA means Mother in Nepali and TIRTHA is a holy and religious place. According to Swasthani story In this holy place The body part of SATI DEVI departed and MATULESOR MAHADEV was Born. "Those who come here and follows all the process according to ancient books their mother's departed soul will get peace and freedom and Being in this place will be fruitful" Is a tradition belief that has been following for many years.
HOW MOTHER'S DAY CAME TO EXISTENCE
According to Hindu Culture, Lord Bishu's sevneth incarnation so called RAM arrived in this place during his travel to Forest. Local people attack him as he was new to this place. Various war was declared between them. Due war both parties were affected. At that time sita was Thirsty and Ram with his bow and arrow hit at certain point with chanting Mantra माता गंगासमाे तीर्थ पिचा पुष्कर मे वचः . Pond was made where arrow was hit. Lord Sita got visited of all the gods and universe while drinking water.
Next Story
There was a thick forest and where shepherds were having chapati(ROTI). Among them one shepherd who tries to eat chapati start to go towards pond. Then he saw his departed mother in that pond but tried to stay with her and Her mother convinced him to come to visit her at that place in new moon day of Baishak.
So people come here at this day and Today is the day.
