Birjung (Parsa), Nov 15:
Chairman of the Minimum Wage Fixation Committee (MWFC), Khem Bhandari said that
condition of the working journalists was vulnerable due to job insecurity.
At a programme organized by
the Federation of Nepali Journalist and MWFC at Parsa today, Chairman Bhandari
said that the Committee was preparing for the recommendation to increase the
salary of working journalists in a scientific way.
Bhandari was of the opinion
that the salary of the journalists should be more than an office assistant.
He, however, said the
government data shows that the condition of working journalists is improving.
Chairman Bhandari stressed on the need of collaboration and
coordination among media house owners and working journalists.
On the occasion, members of
the MWFC Deep Gyawali, Indriya Aryal, PAwan Tiwari as well as district-based
working journalists RC Yadav, Mahesh Chandra Yadav Bijaya Bhandari among others
also expressed their views. RSS
