Construction of a building for mourners has begun at Maidham of Kanakai
municipality at the cost of Rs 22.5 million.
The construction began after the
initiation taken by Sahara Nepal Saving and Cooperatives of Charpane was
provided financial assistance from the Kankai conservation campaign. The
campaign provided Rs 11 million to the Cooperatives so that the building would
be constructed on time.
Chief District Officer Ekmani Nepal
laid a foundation stone for the building on Sunday.
The building will have six blocks
with four rooms in each. There will be a guest house with 15 rooms having a
separate big meeting hall. Other facilities as toilet, hearse, parking lot will
be there in the building, informed co-convenor of the Campaign, Prabhakhar
Kadariya.
The campaign initiated with the
slogan of 'one day's income and time of a year for community service'.
It is said the construction will
complete in one year.
At the programme organized to lay
foundation stone, Vice-President of the Nepali Congress in the district, Deuman
Thebe, said the campaign was a very appreciative move. It shows that it was not
necessary to wait for government for community works, he added. RSS
