Kathmandu, Nov 13: The visiting Indian
Army Chief Dalbir Singh called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at latter's
office on Thursday.
On the occasion, the two discussed Nepal-India
military relations and topics relating to mutual interest, informed PM's Press
Coordinator Prakash Adhikari.
Indian Army Chief Singh praised the
contributions made by Nepali in the Indian military service and added that the
Indian government was willing to provide welfare incentives to the former
Gurkha army in par with the former Indian military in view of their service
in the Indian security.
He also commended the successful
integration of the Maoist combatants in a short time, saying it was an exemplary
deed for the world.
During the meeting, PM Koirala
underscored the cordial relations existing between Nepal and India in many
sectors.
The PM added that Nepal's development
would gain pace after timely promulgation of the new constitution. RSS
