Kathmandu, Nov 17: Indigenous and
Madhesi intellectuals have decided to launch a joint movement against a common
proposal of the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) on the disputed issues of a
new constitution.
Issuing a press release today, movement
coordinator Padma Ratna Tuladhar has said that they had unanimously decided to
announce the programmes of protest against the proposal as the NC and the UML
are trying to pass it on the majority basis.
The parties have been accused of
hatching conspiracies to get the proposal approved on the basis of majority.
The proposal has not addressed issues of indigenous, nationalities and the
Madhesi community, the statement adds.
Different intellectuals from these
communities including Parshu Ram Tamang, Malla K Sundar Suresh Ale Magar among
others jointly issued the release. RSS
