Kathmandu,
Nov 24: Six Madhes-centered political parties represented in the Constituent
Assembly (CA) have reinstated the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).
The
leaders of Madhesi parties said at a news conference in the capital on Monday
that the UDMF was reinstated aiming to create an atmosphere conducive to
promulgate the new constitution by January 22 and thereby institutionalize the
achievements of different movements and people's struggles made so far.
The
UDMF has recalled that the Article 138 (1) (a) of the Interim Constitution of
Nepal 2007 has stated that a federal democratic republic state shall be made by
internalizing the aspirations for autonomous provinces of Madhesi, indigenous,
nationalities and people of backward and other regions.
The
UDMF said that forming the provinces based on identity and viability and not
including any other region's part with the Tarai-Madhes while forming the provinces
was its concept.
Likewise,
the UDMF has put forth the idea of being integrated with the UCPN (Maoist)-led
22-party alliance to make it more effective through effective coordination.
A
taskforce under the leadership of Jitendra Narayan Dev has been formed to
prepare the programmes of the UDMF.
Hridayesh
Tripathi, Lalbabu Yadav, Laxmanlal Karn, Rani Sharma and Shekhar Kumar Singh
are the members in the taskforce.
Likewise,
the UDMF has decided not to join government until the promulgation of constitution
and reject any of the proposals in that regard. RSS
