Kathmandu, Nov 14: The Seventh
national council meeting of the Human Rights and Peace Society has kicked off
on Friday.
Around 250 representatives from
different 30 districts are participating
in the two-day meeting held in the Capital.
Speaking at the inaugural programme,
senior leader of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba wished for the success
of the council meeting and said that rights of all people would be ensured only
when the new constitution ensures the human rights, political freedom, independent
judiciary.

leader Deuba stressed on the need of promulgating new constitution in the
slated time as there was no alternative to this and said the new constitution should ensure parliamentary
system as it has fewer demerits as compared to other systems existing in the
world.
Similarly, Chairman of the Constituent
Assembly (CA) Subash Nembang urged the political parties to settle the disputed
issues through consensus without further delay adding that if forging consensus
among the political parties was not possible the Constitution writing process
should be forwarded through CA process.
Chairman of the National Human
Rights Commission Anupraj Sharma, lawmaker Gagan Thapa, and rights activist
Krishna Pahadi, among others said forming the single identity based federal
states was not possible in the country for the social harmony and suggested for
promulgating new constitution ensuring the multi-lingual identity in the
federalism.

Chaulagain said the country should institutionalize the political achievements
