Kathmandu, Dec 11: The Metropolitan
Police Range, Hanumandhoka today made public one Bimalesh Prasad Yadav, who is
an accused in the murder of student Ritu Mahaseth.
Organising a press conference, the
Metropolitan Police Range presented the 27-year-old Yadav from Dhanusha
District.
Yadav had stabbed Mahaseth on
December 6 at Ghattekulo Dhobikhola Corridor while she was on her way to attend
her friend's wedding, severely injuring her. Mahaseth was taken to the TU
Teaching Hospital for treatment where she died the same day.
A resident of Tulasiyahijabdi-4,
Dhanusha District, Mahaseth was a BBA First Year student at local Kantipur
College, Milanchowk. She had been staying in a girl's hostel in the capital.
Investigation shows that Yadav had
proposed his love to Mahaseth and had been following her for some years and
attacked her in retribution after she refused his proposal, Deputy
Superintendent of Police, Dinesh Kumar Acharya, said. Yadav was arrested from
Balaju on Wednesday. Further
investigation into the case is underway, police said. RSS
