27: A delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and
Industry (FNCCI) today called on Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal
Dahal and urged him not to organize banda
(general shutdown) and strike, but create an environment conducive for
investment.
During the
meeting held at Chairman Dahal's residence, the delegation led by the FNCCI
President Pradeep Jung Pandey drew his attention that banda and strike would
ruin investment-friendly environment, which is being created gradually in the
country.
Taking FNCCI's
call positively, the UCPN (Maoist) Chairman said the party could reconsider the
protest programmes announced earlier after holding discussion with 30 parties,
Pandey told media persons.
He said the
delegation urged leader Dahal to create investment-friendly environment by
promulgating the new constitution on time through consensus.
Mr Pandey
further said that they met Chairman Dahal with an objective of ending the
culture of banda and strike so as to create investment-friendly environment in
view of the growing foreign investment in the country of late. RSS
