8: Nepal won 13 gold medals in the ongoing 23rd International Karate
Competition underway in Kolkata, India on Monday.
In Kata and
Kumute, Nepal's Nikhil KC and Ramila
Nagarkoti won double gold medals.
In another
matches played in Kata category, Bijaya Basnet, Bishal Gole, Susmita Lama and
Pradeep Thulung won more gold medals, said Mamita Shrestha, Treasurer at Nepal
Sotokan Karate Do Association.
Similarly, in
matches played in Kumute, Niraj Kumar Shrestha, Saroj Dahal, Binod Roka,
Sushant Modak and Siya Bhandari won gold medals for Nepal. In the competition
Nepal won nine silver medals and 11 bronze.
Bimallal
bags silver medal in body building
Meanwhile, in
Fitness Physics category under the ongoing sixth World Body Building
Competition, Nepal's Bimallal Shrestha bagged silver medal.
He won the
silver in men's 179 centimeter height competition, according to Dinesh
Rajbhandari, General Secretary of Nepal Body Building and Fitness Association.
This is the
first time Nepal took part in Fitness Physics category. RSS
