22: Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat administered the oath of office and
secrecy to newly elected Chairperson of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) , Suman
Prasad Sharma.
Sharma,
Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, was appointed to the post recently and
was sworn-in Monday.
On the
occasion, Finance Minister Dr Mahat suggested the EPF to work to guratnee the
despositers' amount and sustainbility of collection's outcome at a time when the Fund has been
already established as a siginifiacnt organisation inview of the mobilisation
of collected funds.
Presently, the
EPF has the collection of around Rs 170 billion and the new act has expanded
its juridiction. Although the Finance Ministry is the caretaker of EPF, it is
not its regulating body, he added.
Newly elected
Chairperson Sharma pledged to leave no stone unturned to pay the highest
outcomes to fund depositors and guarantee their deposits. RSS
