Kathmandu, Dec 13: Story writer Amar Shah's
recent publication Kurukshetra has
been released in the capital city on Friday.
The collection of 22 stories, Kurukshetra is the second literary
creation of writer Shah after his first publication of Adiyug in 2045 BS. The stories include the various issues of the
society including politics, contemporary situation, good-governance,
corruption, poverty and others.
During the programme organized by Madhyapaschim
Sahitya Parishad, the writers and critics praised the literary skill of story
writer of Kurukshetra for his attacks
on social follies in a simple and lucid language.
Amar Shah has expressed the feeling of Nepali
soil by touching upon the lifestyle from east to west of the country in a
lively manner and deserves applauses, the critics added.
On the occasion, senior litterateur and
academician Amar Giri pointed out that story writer Shah has strongly
intervened against the ongoing degradation of human values and norms, and
social capital.
Kurukshetra is a window to study the
contemporary Nepali society, Giri said.
Commenting on the book, another acclaimed
writer Nayanraj Pandey said Shah has established the easy-going and
marginalized characters in his stories.
Similarly, Dr Madhusudan Giri viewed the book
as a portrayal of rustic life.
Giri said Shah's stories depict the social
picture of the contemporary Nepali society and pains of laborers, commoners
and, mostly the lifestyle of the people of the mid and far west regions.
Published by the Yamburi Book Point, the book
priced at Rs 225.
Writer Shah, a permanent resident of Bhalchaur
VDC-3 in Salyan district, is the joint-secretary in civil service as well. RSS
