Myagdi, Dec 1: The establishment
of a tourist check-post and an information center at Muktinath of Mustang,
known as the district beyond the Himalaya, has caused convenience to tourists
coming for the district visit.
The Annapurna Conservation Area
Project (ACAP) set up the check-post with a view to keeping full details of
tourists entering the district and arriving for trekking in the Thorang La
mountain pass, according to ACAP Jomsom Chief Bidur Kuinkel.
Presently, two employees are
stationed at the check-post and the ACAP is planning for the management of
additional human resources there. Besides, tourists can take all necessary
information about their destination including weather condition, trekking
route, geography and other services available there from the information
center. The new tourism infrastructure
in Mustang is expected to ease the rescue of visitors at a time of possible
disasters. RSS
