Kathmandu, Nov 15: CPN (UML) leader and
Constituent Assembly member Bharat Mohan Adhikari on Saturday stressed for
bringing into electronic voting machines in the next elections.
Speaking at an interaction programme on
Free, Fair and Credible Elections held by Parliamentary Special Election
Research, Investigation and Suggestions Committee in the capital, the UML
leader said use of voting machines would minimize the problems seen in the
elections.
He said the expenditure of the
candidates in the elections surpassed the standard set by the Election
Commission while adding it would be appropriate if the state managed the
expenses with adoptation of necessary policy.
At the programme, Constituent Assembly
member Bal Bahadur KC said a free and fair election can be practised only in
democracy.
Committee Chairman Laxmanlal Karna
expressed commitment that the suggestions offered by the participants on
electoral system would be implemented.
He said the political parties were
giving their maximum time in discussions to promulgate a constitution by 22
