Kathmandu, Nov 16:
CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that a force is active to foil the
constitution writing process and urged all to remain cautious of this force.
Welcoming former
mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Keshav Sthapit in the party on Sunday at
the party headquarters, UML chief Oli appealed to remain aloof to those brining
communal clash to fulfill the petty interests and destabilizing the national
unity.
"Those not
supporting the constitution writing process have formed alliance inside and
outside the Constituent Assembly. Some people have agreed to promulgate the
constitution only if their issues were met. The UML cannot agree on such,"
Oli said.
Oli said that the UML
was committed to bringing the new constitution by January 22 to ensure
equitable rights to the people.
On the occasion, Oli
welcomed Sthapit by offering shawl and Tika and praised Sthapit for generating
new thoughts, dynamism and constructive ideas.
UML General Secretary
Ishwor Pokhrel, secretary Pradip Gyawali, leader Shanker Pokhrel and others
welcomed Sthapit in the party.
Sthapit had defected
the UML to join the Ashok Rai-led Federal Socialist Party ahead of November 19
CA elections to contest from Kathmandu Constituency No. 6.
On the occasion,
Sthapit said that he was in need of an opportunity to work.
Sthapit said that he
does not want to be victim of factionalism in the party.
