24: The Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank of the country is introducing
silver coins in commemoration of the 18th SAARC Summit.
The coins
shall depict the SAARC symbol on the head and the picture of Gautam Buddha and
Mayadevi on the tail.
The Rs. 2,000
denomination coins weigh 25 grams and a total of 3,000 coins would be released,
according to spokesperson of the Bank Manmohan Shrestha.
Preparation
work for minting 500 pieces of model coins began today, Shrestha said. RSS
