Beni (Myagdi), Nov 13: The senior
citizen health service operated in the district to provide treatment to
disadvantaged elderly people in a convenient manner has not become effective.
More than 200 elderly people have so
far received service through the programme implemented by Women Development
Office since fiscal year 2064-65 BS.
According to Women Development
Centre, Myagdi, the programme has not been effective due to complicated process
and inadequate public awareness.
A senior citizen above 65 years of
age is entitled to get the service twice a year. The number of
service-recipients is on decline because of procedural hassles. RSS
