21: Six people were killed and nine
others were injured in a jeep accident at Durchhim Gauribhir in the district at
5:00 am today.
The jeep (Me
1 Ja 732) heading to Jayramghat from Halesi carrying pilgrims met with an
accident and fell some 700 metres down from the road at the place.
The deceased
in the accident are Tanka Raya, 56, of Chyanam-2 Okhaldhunga; Purna Maya Magar,
65; Chandra Maya Karki, 37; and Chandra Maya Tamang, 45, of Langpatar-4 of
Sindhuli; Rob Bahadur Pandit, 38 and
Saraswati Pandit, 35 of Panchkanya of Nuwakot, police said.
Similarly,
injured are Tek Bahadur Magar, 70; Purna
Bahadur Magar, 65; Ashish Magar, 7; San Bahadur Magar, 34; Manju Bhandari, 28;
Shambhu Bishwakarma, 38; Chet Bahadur Ramauli, 26 of Lampangtar-4
Sindhuli; Chitra Bahadur Ramauli, 28 of
Lampangtar-3 of Sindhuli and Simmram
Pandit, 13 of Kapan Kathmandu, said DSP Binod Raj Kharel.
Police are
collecting the dead bodies while the injured have been taken to Teaching
Hospital in the capital via helicopter, police added. Police have arrested the jeep driver Kaushal
Bishwakarma for further action. RSS
